Hotel and B&B Photos: A Checklist for Each Room Type
A general gallery can show an attractive property without explaining which room a guest is buying. For hotels and B&Bs, matching images to the room types sold comes before editing.

1. Start with the room types you actually sell
List the names used in your property system and channels: single, double, suite or your own categories. Record beds, occupancy, bathroom, view and distinctive features. Do not implicitly illustrate a standard category with a superior room.
If rooms within a category differ, photograph relevant variants and check how the platform lets you describe them. This checklist is an operational method, not a substitute for your room sales conditions.
2. Cover the information guests need to choose
Expedia Group's photo toolkit recommends three room photos and one bathroom photo per room type, with the view and kitchen where applicable. This is coverage guidance, not a conversion promise or a requirement shared by every channel.
Our suggested workflow uses images that answer different questions: where the beds are, how the bathroom connects, which view is available and which amenities are included. Near-duplicate photos do not fill an information gap.

Archive originals and exports by property and room type with a named reviewer. After editing, check beds, bathroom fixtures, openings and color. Editing should not erase genuine differences between categories.
View the listing as a guest and check photos attached to the room being sold, not just the general gallery. The matrix includes a post-upload review column. Complete it for each channel: a correct file can still be assigned to the wrong category.
