Yellow Interior Photos, Blown Windows and Crooked Lines: What to Fix
Not every defect calls for more brightness. A yellow room may need color correction; a white window may contain no usable outside detail; a leaning wall may reflect camera position. Identify the problem before choosing an edit.

1. Yellow casts: find a trustworthy reference
Compare walls, light fabrics and materials you know. If they all look too warm, gradually reduce white-balance temperature. If the cast affects only an area lit by a lamp, a global correction can turn the rest of the room blue.
Adobe distinguishes temperature and tint in white balance. Use them to correct a cast rather than change the actual furnishings. Cream walls should remain cream; not every light surface is a neutral white reference.
- Compare with the real material, not just the thumbnail.
- Make a small adjustment and check other areas.
- If daylight and lamps create incompatible colors, try a new photo with more consistent lighting.
2. Blown windows: distinguish faint detail from missing detail
Reduce highlights on a copy and check whether credible shapes emerge. If the window remains uniform, that file may not contain the exterior detail you need. An editor can darken the area without recovering what was never visible.
Do not replace the view with a generated landscape. For a new shot, change the time, position and balance of indoor and outdoor light. Try different exposures and inspect both areas immediately. If the view matters, also photograph it separately.
3. Crooked verticals: straighten without stretching the room
Inspect door and window edges. Tilting the camera up or down can make lines converge. Perspective correction can help but often needs a crop. Adjust gently and check that furniture and bathroom fixtures do not become distorted.
If correction removes half the bed or the bathroom entrance, reshoot with a more level camera and change its height or position. Do not stretch the image to make the space appear larger.
4. Review manual and AI results the same way
Compare the edited version with the original and assess all three problems separately. An image can improve color while damaging proportions. Check adjacent gallery photos too: the same room should not change materials or colors between frames.
With AI Property Photo, examine openings, reflections and objects before accepting an output. Reject an inaccurate change rather than selecting solely for brightness. For general underexposure, also read the dedicated dark-interior guide.
Action checklist
- Color checked against real materials.
- No view invented without a reference.
- Verticals corrected without distortion.
- The crop still explains the room.
- The output matches the original and the gallery.
