AI Photos on Airbnb and Booking: What to Check Before Publishing
A brighter image is useful only if guests will recognize the same space when they arrive. Before uploading an AI-edited version, separate three checks: channel rules, image rights and accuracy. A successful generation does not certify any of them.

1. What the sources say, and what they do not establish
Airbnb's Content Policy covers AI imagery. Its host ground rules explicitly reject edits that conceal damage, add nonexistent amenities or misrepresent the space. These requirements are not approval of an individual result.
Booking.com's Photo API documentation describes technical uploads and errors, rather than a general AI editing policy. Check the conditions applying to your listing and any Extranet notices. If in doubt, retain the original and ask the platform about the specific image.

Display the original and edited version at the same size. Follow the edges of doors, windows, beds, bathroom fixtures and furniture. Check for moved objects, changed materials, added openings or reflections interpreted as new features.
Inspect details that influence booking decisions: the view, balcony access, additional beds, shower, kitchen and amenities. A white window is not permission to invent the landscape outside. Reject an unverifiable version or take the photo again.
3. Which corrections are easier to assess
Moderate brightness, color balance and straightening can be compared with the original. They can still fail: beige walls turning white or a room distorted by cropping are not automatically acceptable.
Our cautious review checklist excludes adding furniture, hiding permanent defects and changing perceived dimensions. This is our editorial approval method, rather than a claimed official rule shared by all platforms.
4. Check permissions and retain the versions
Use your own images or photos for which you hold the necessary editing and publishing rights. An image being visible on a public listing does not make it available for anyone to reuse. Clarify any restrictions in the photographer's or owner's contract before processing it.
Keep the original, published file, date and reviewer's name. AI Property Photo does not automatically publish results to listing platforms; you make that final decision. Check the uploaded thumbnail too, since cropping may hide an essential detail.
